Lament for the Lost: Great Blue Heron Nest Painting

In the tradition of 19th century artist John James Audubon, this is a life-size, watercolor painting of a Great Blue Heron nest. The artist observed and photographed this nest, at a remote pond in the northern Adirondacks, for weeks before she finally captured the moments when one of the adults brought food to the 3 young ones. Unfortunately, in another week the nest was abandoned, likely having been attacked by a predator like a bald eagle. 29x40 inch, matted and framed, under plexiglass.
